One of the most important tools you can have in your makeup bag is the often misunderstood eyelash curler. This little tool has the power to take your makeup look from basic to breathtaking. With just a flick of your wrist, you can easily elevate your look.
How to Curl Lashes
The eyelash curler is a simple tool that packs a powerful punch. With the right technique, you can make even sparse and stubbly lashes look full and long. Follow these simple steps for luscious lashes:
Step 1: Prep Your Curler
Oddly enough, adding a little heat to your eyelash curler is never a bad idea. By blasting the curler with just a touch of hot air from your blow dryer, you’re essentially creating a curling iron for your lashes. Make sure the curler isn’t too hot! A small amount of heat will help your lashes hold.
Step 2: Shimmy, Shimmy
Set your eyelash curler at the base of your lashes without accidentally pinching any skin. Be sure the metal flat part of the curler lays up against the eyelid. Then, slowly shimmy the lashes between the rubber and metal.

Step 3: Hold for 20 Seconds
Hold the eyelash curler for 20 seconds at the base of your lashes, then move the curler toward the middle of your lashes and hold for another 20 seconds. Gently tilt the curler up toward your forehead for a more intense curl.
If you have longer lashes, hold for another 20 seconds a little further out, Be sure to avoid the tips of your eyelashes or else you’ll get a funky right angle that won’t look natural.
Step 4: Finish With Mascara
Your lashes will eventually lose that carefully crafted curl you’ve spent so much time creating if you don’t finish with mascara.
My four-in-one MAX-DEFINING LASH MASCARA will seal in that curl while also elongating and thickening your lashes. It volumizes, lengthens, holds, and conditions your lashes all at the same time. The curved brush will individually coat lashes with mascara for maximum hold and impact. Plus it comes in three shades: black, brown, and even navy!
