Eye Makeup Essentials
When it comes to effortless beauty, there are just a few eye makeup essentials you need to have on hand. You don’t need to break the bank to be beautiful! Five products is all you really need to make those eyes pop:
- Mascara
Investing in a great mascara is an easy way to really make your eyes stand out. A coat or two of the right mascara will elevate your look in less than 30 seconds! Whether you’re going for a natural or glamorous look, mascara is one of those finishing touches you can’t just skip.
Define, lift, and thicken lashes to open the eye. My MAX-DEFINING LASH MASCARA comes in black, navy, or brown. No matter your eye color, I have the perfect shade for you!
Pro Tip: For fuller, stronger, and longer lashes, use my specially formulated LASH THICKENER before your mascara or in between coats to really bring the wow factor!
- Black Eyeliner
Every girl has their go-to eyeliner—it’s one of the quickest and easiest ways to make your eyes stand out! Adding a liner to the lower or upper lash line is a great way to define and enhance your eyes. The right eyeliner pencil can be extremely versatile, capable of executing the perfect cat eye or lining just the outside of the lower lash line for a gentle pop of definition. My Super Longwear Gel Eyeliner is a great choice to achieve a smudgy/smoky, graphic line or subtle accentuation for your eyes.
Eye Makeup for Beginners
Don’t be intimidated by all those
Instagram influencers with their flawless faces and perfectly applied eyeliner. With just a few products, you’re looking at the same level of fierce staring back at you from the mirror!
- Eyebrow Pencil
It’s so easy—especially for beginners—to overlook the eyebrow when it comes to perfect eye look. If the eyes are the window to the soul, the eyebrows are the frame. Filling in and defining your brow will draw attention to your eyes.
Choose an eyebrow pencil that is within two shades of your hair color. You don’t want a color that’s too dark—you’ll look harsh and over-the-top. You also don’t want a color that’s too light—you’ll end up looking washed out and bland.
Pro Tip: For a natural finish, go for an eyebrow pencil that’s one shade lighter than your natural color. My go to brow pencil for years on most of my clients is Natural Taupe Brow Pencil. It’s always an easy choice.
Eye Makeup Must Haves
- Neutral Eyeshadow Palette
Making sure a neutral eyeshadow palette is part of your makeup lineup is more useful than you think. With just a few key shades, you can create looks that are bold and brilliant or soft and subdued, depending on the occasion. With my extensive EYE SHADOW COLLECTION you can build your own custom palette around your specific skin tone and style!
- Eye Shadow Primer
Primer is the unsung hero of the makeup world, for both the face and the eyes. If you’re someone who has heavy eyelids or more mature skin, a primer will keep your eyeshadow from creasing.
There’s nothing worse than putting a lot of time, energy, and effort into the perfect eye look only to have the whole effect ruined a few hours later! Skip the stress and use a primer to make sure your shades won’t budge throughout the day.
My favorite eye primer is my award winning Illuminate & Contour Eye Treatment. It not only smooths lines, depuffs and lightens dark circles it primes the lid with powerful natural ingredients lifting and smoothing your lid and crease prepping the eye for eye shadow.
If you’re a makeup beginner, these five products will help you be well on your way to an easy and achievable beauty routine. Don’t be afraid to play!
